Comstar and rim strip question
« on: February 03, 2011, 09:34:17 AM »
I have a new set of tires coming in today for my SS.  And I'm curious do I still need to run rim strips?  Just wanted to know if I need to pick some up when I get the tires.

Thanks as always for any info.

Tubeless tires on Comstars would not require a rimstrip-only necessary with spoke wheels...Larry

Thanks Larry.  I didn't think I needed them but wanted to be sure.  But I will be using tubes since I don't think comstars were a tubeless rim.

You're welcome, purpose of the tubes is to protect the tube from rubbing against the nipples.  I remember when tubeless tires for motorcycles first came out we used to put tubes in because we were paranoid ::) that the tubeless tires would leak.  Unfounded premise as usual ;D...Larry
