Large order thru online parts dealer for sohc-recommendations?
« on: January 11, 2011, 07:37:37 PM »
im dropping alot of hard earned cash and i dont want to be jerked around by the guys i usually go thru who failed me last time. TAS wasted 5 weeks of my summer riding >:(
im going to order all the cables, seals, rebuild kits, tubes, tires, plugs, caps, pads, chain, etc. all at once for my project cb750f0 in order to save on shipping, and i also need tires.  So far Bike Bandit seems to be the one stop shop.  has anyone had a good experience with large orders thru z-1, westerhills, bike bandit anyone else that has a large honda oem availability?
thanks
donald

I've always had great Service from ServiceHonda.com. I've ordered many expensive orders from them and many parts at a time. They will let you know what they can get/is still available. You'll get a 20-30% discount off the msrp from them. Shipping is not cheap anymore no matter where. I'd ask for some sort of shipping quote/info before hand so you're not surprised. No one keeps many of these stock parts in stock. They all get ordered from the Honda warehouse first then head your way.

Now, as far as all at once goes, that won't happen, trust me, I've been ordering for 3 years for my F0  ;)

If you have trouble finding something I might be able to help you source it. I've purchased from 8 countries to get those no longer available NOS items and picked damn near everything that is available from Honda's warehouses for my soon to be almost NOS CB750F0.

I will throw Cyclepartswarehouse.com into the ring. I have used them for both my vf750cd and the cb750k4. they seem to be able to beat almost every other supplier I have tried. couldn't hurt to check them out.

I went to my nearest dealer today and got so blown off it wasnt funny! I miss my old Honda dealer! Ive got a $100 order coming tommorow. The website ordering basket seems like junk but get your parts#s in order and call them. Piece of cake! shipping is $12 but the savings are worth it! Unless you buy 3 fuses! ;D Western Hills has Terry! Hes great too!

I've had good luck with bike bandit.  Their OEM parts are priced at list price, which is higher than most of the online dealers, but they can still be cheaper with shipping.
It looks like you're getting a bunch of aftermarket normal-wear items.  For these types of things, I usually go with Z1enterprises.  Their prices and shipping usually beat out the other stores, and they're very nice to deal with.
For tires, if you're putting them on yourself, get them from motorcycle superstore.  You'll get free shipping (over $89) and their tire prices are just about the lowest anyway.  I've had good luck doing this in the past as well.

CycleX http://www.cyclexchange.net has always been good to deal with for seals, gaskets and engine components. I think they also sell cables and other oem replacement parts. Tires and pads i found the best deal on through the small local dealers/shops.

I'm notorious for walking into the local shop and buying a couple $$ worth of seals and stuff.  They put up with me though because they're fascinated I'm riding around on 40 year old bikes.  I told them I was going to charge an advertising fee for parking it in front of the store...

edit:  and I've had good luck with bikebandit....

+1, not sure about tires with them though.

I use www.ronayers.com they can get anything for any bike.  I also use them for the microfiche drawings, helps with reassembly if I forget how things went together.  They seem to be cheaper than most part distribution sites and their delivery is quick.

I've used both bikebandit and motorcyclesuperstore a couple times each, no problems, but as someone said, you might get split orders, they send what they got right away, and order from manufacturer/warehouse for the rest.

These guys are good. And you can find the parts. Call them after the order is placed to make sure everything you thought was available really is.

+1^

I've also had good luck with http://www.powersportspro.com/ (Dillon Brothers in Omaha). Besides my CB400F I am also maintaining a couple of Honda Expresses and a couple of Yamaha Yamahoppers. It's nice to be able to get both Honda and Yamaha parts on the same order. Shipping is reasonable and quick.
