RpBet, i got new rings from another member on here (tweakin) so im all set in that regard. I do need to do some honing tho. Hopefully this weekend. As for my plans for the bike, its slowly becoming a cafe racer. I am trying to put more of the money i do have into the engine and worry about the body later. I could use some suggestions on color and what kind of paint to use tho.

f2 are great and i am glad there is a community of us.  :D. seems like im one of the few on the forum from the east coast tho.

I do have another question for you guys tho. I recently purchased some air filters (replacing the old box with 4 individual ones) but i got 39mm. they seemed to small so i sent them back. does anyone know the correct size filters for the f2 carbs? i would assume its 42mm but i am not sure.

also does anyone have a set of 77 k spokes? i love to replace the corn stars with the spokes, love that look. thanks guys. more updates to come this weekend.

i think that you want F0-F1 wheels not K wheels

I love spokes to, but if you want to keep the dual discs up front your gonna need to swap the whole front end with a GL front like tweakin did. I am not sure if you could swap out for K wheels and spokes and run a single disc or not...

Mick, Mick, Mick... ;D  Did you ever have spoked wheels/dual discs on the bastard child 77/78F? ;)  What BWJ is trying to say is for my swap when I tried to stuff a 76f hub and with dual 76f discs into a 77f front end it would not fit, no clearance!  My understanding is that the later model F bikes have a narrower front end than the earlier models.  I just said "F it" and went with a complete GL front end to match the 76f Hub (same as the 77GL hub) and be done with it, after throwing in some quality internals.

Why does he need a GL front end.? I have had twin discs on all my old 750's and never used a GL front......

AHHHHHHHHHHH, i have the F0 {some call F1} its the only F bike i have owned, {owned a few F'n bikes as well  ;D}, so any other twin disc K front end or early F would do as well.? Or even different model clamps because this is where the problem would be if it were narrower ..?

My air filters are going o be a different size than what you need since I am running the CR carbs.  Check out www.dynoman.net for some good quality air filters to fit your bike or email Buzz (dynoman) to get the correct size you need.  I can't remember off the top of my head what size stock carbs use.

tweaks are your air filters on ur bike 42 mm?

i am in need of some more help. i am almost done putting the engine back together but when i rotate the camshaft the chain seems to skip off the sprocket every half turn or so. Its not a a lot but enough to concern me. anyone else have this issue? normal?

maybe a better question is which way is the engine supposed to turn counterclock-wise or clockwise? it only skips counter clockwise and also which side of the bike is cylinder 1 on?

Not an expert on 750's, but that's correct for a 550.
BTW, why not download the manual from this site and be sure of what you are doing?

That seems odd, it is real difficult to be 100% sure with out seeing what is going on.  I know a little but am far from an expert.  I use the manual still on almost everything I do to the bike, just to double check.  It is really easy to mess something up quick.  If you don't have one look at downloading it here.

I numbered my boots to match the cylinders, 1 thru 4, left to right. They always fit good and it's one of the places I haven't had any problems.

I have the Honda shop Manual "bible" and the Clymer. They read the cylinders are 1-4 starting from the riders left.

Did you get the filters sorted out yet? I think that the inlet size on 750 carbs is 40mm, so the 42mm should be correct.
