The first time around when I used earlier model carbs I just picked them up from a local dealer, probably not the cheapest route.
That which does not kill you leaves cool scabs which turn into awesome scars.

starting to do some work on the frame. all is stripped off except for the swing arm. I am having a difficult time trying to removing the swing arm bolt. the nut doesn't seem to want to move. anyone else have trouble with this? tips? i tired heating the nut but that got me no where.

as an update to this thread, i have completed the rebuild of the carbs and ordered more pieces for the cafe racer. its not going to be a million dollar bike but i am please at where it is headed. i will post more pictures when i get a chance. thanks.

Started working on the bike again this week. It's coming along but had a question. Can the cornstar rims be taken apart to be cleaned and or painted and then reassembled? Has anyone do this? Advice? Thanks for your help.

The comstar wheels are rivetted together mate, so to disassemble them, you'd need to carefully remove the rivets, do whatever you want to do to them and then rivet them back together. A pretty ambitious project I'd think, and personally I wouldn't advise it, I'd hate for one of your wheels to come apart while you're riding it, unless you like hospital food? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Sorry for the thread hijack. I too am working on two F2 builds and was looking at yours and saw this image. I have been trying to find a build link to this bike, is there one? There's a lot I really like about this bike and would like to find out more.

BTW, your blacked out comstars with alloy rims is exactly the way I want to go. I think the black spokes, then alloy rim with the black tyre looks really nice.

Hey everyone, long time no talk. I need some help...

I got back to working on the bike and I am currently working on the wiring. The wiring harness was cut and I can't figure out which wires go where in the ignition - it doesn't seem to be in the book (wiring diagram either) can someone help me out?

I know this is a clip type unit that plugs into the ignition but it has been cut out. I am wiring it without the clip so I just need to know what colors go to which connector.

you can check with multimeter...

red is +12v , brown gets 12v when key is turned etc, one that leaves lights on when in key is turned to park etc.

Hey everyone, I am looking to complete my wiring on my CB750f2. I have a new aftermarket tail light that seems to be giving me some trouble...so heres the deal.

Everything on my bike is currently wired and working properly, with one exception; the running light. The braking functionally works fine when it comes to the tail light but I cant get the running like on. The wiring from the harness into the headlight has a brown female connector and there seems to be no brown male connector that it attached to. Also I feel like wiring diagram I have in unclear if this is correct. My thoughts were that the short "jumper" wire must connect here to create a closed circuit but that effort only results in blown fuses. Looking for some help?

Again all blinkers, horn, starter, hi and low beam functions works great. Also the light works (dims when comparing to brake to brights) when clicked into "park" function so I know the light works. Any ideas?

I believe you should have a brown with a blue stripe that connects to black. I believe this brown/blue will also have a colored band on it. I seem to think it was a yellow band for some reason, and there might be a corresponding black lead with a yellow band or stripe on the insulator?

Of course this brown/blue might also have a black band, I can't recall off the top of my head right now. It would be this evening before I could pull mine apart and look.

Stock, all of the signal lights are amber. Rear running lights are almost universally required to be red, so the rear lights are a single filament signal light only, while the front facing signals are typically dual filament and serve as both running lights and signal lights.

May not get to the headlight bucket tonight, just got home after hanging with calj737 and CBertels looking over Chris's bike and bouncing ideas around about the amount of work he's got to do.

Not always the case. Many running lights on the rear of motorcycles include the indicators using a dual filament, so that they show a solid amber with a brighter turn signal.
