Pics as promised.
Shift forks OK but it looks like we are chewing up the dogs on a couple of the gears again.
We changed our clutch configuration for PI.
That has probably caused the problem.

Didn't know to much about the process until I read about it on this forum a little while ago.
From memory TIA was looking into it.

Undercutting is good that's for sure. I think the ultimate process would be to hard weld the dogs/gears and undercut them followed by cyro aging followed by a coating. The coatings work well on the fork shafts and the forks.

We are way past that at this stage.
In the high load section of the box we use a much stronger gear set.
They have four large square undercut dogs.
We used to under cut our gear sets, but then we started ripping the dogs off.
The gear set we seemed to have damaged this time around has never given us a problem before.
We ran a locker clutch for the first time at PI and I believe it has put a lot of extra stress on the drive train.
We chewed up the mounting plate for the clutch basket as well, also caused by by the extra load generated by the locker I believe.

What's the go re the gear box?..............

Ceramic coatings reduce friction and heat, i am doing the piston tops on my 1000cc build and have read reports of up too 60% reduction in temps by doing this. My gearbox is already back cut but i wouldn't mind the cryo and coating on it also....

I want to do this to my rocker arms, rocker shafts, shift forks and shift shafts. The transmission for my 1000cc engine has had the dog/gear engagement surfaces hard welded and undercut. Was the undercut deep on your gear sets when your dogs sheared off Brian? Did they break on upshift or downshift....or it didn't matter? ;)

2nd and 3rd gear were the worst offenders re tearing off.
Usually on the up shift.
The others would usually round off and jump out of gear.
Case hardening the dogs would help reduce the wear rate but did not help when they sheared off.
Before we began using the HD gear sets, we would get better results using sallower angles on the back cut and shimming them nice and snug.
Even so, at that stage we  were happy if we got three meetings out of a gearbox.

It's just an ongoing balancing act.
We had the balance right, then we introduced the clutch locker now it's back to the drawing board.
All suggestions re a solution will be greatfully accepted.

Come on fella's.
There's some smart blokes here help me out.
We have redused the weight on the bob weights.
The alloy pressure plate was ripped up as well.
Any suggestions?
