I understand the tank is correct for the year...my question though is more about the clear coat finish.  I'm just wondering if the the photos just don't show it very well, or if the owner actually stripped the clear coat and left a matte finish.  I like the matte finish and wondering how to achieve that look.

1. Are you sure that these bikes have clear coat?  I didn't think that became common until the 90's.

2. You don't have to remove clear coat to get a matte finish, just hit it with some nice fine sandpaper and then polish it back to the level of gloss you want.

Ive been very interested in the same sized wheels look. I hear it decreases handling, not sure how much. And you probably have to get a wider triple tree and spacers to the axle?

Very little difference in the handling. You probably may not even be able to tell.
