Check out this page for Honda parts, think they got some triple trees and a lot of other stuff!

I´ll be following this build, as I´m building my CB 550 into a cafe.
Let me know about how goes with the wiring, mine is a total mess!

All best from Oslo!

Where did you get your Firestone tires? and did you use the original rims? Those tires just make the Cb look much better. I´ll think I need to come visit you and get some pointers.

Thanks for the links man!  You are just a couple of minutes away (like 20 i guess). I also work in Oslo, and am planning to take the CB to work on nice days. Guess we could meet sometime..

I own a little parts-shop myself, so i have ordered the Firestones from one of my dealers. Just let me know if you need some :) Rims are original, but im planning on powerdercoating them black and get a set of ss spokes.

Still waiting for my seat, but most electrical stuff are wired up now. Just missing the taillight, but i need the seat back first so i can adjust the light to it.

I took the 550 for a ride today, not many kilometers (dont have a license plate mounted), but i have gone through her with new sparkplugs, and tightened up the sparkplugwires and done some adjustments. First time with the pods also...
I just have to say WOW - that was something completely different compared to my previous rides on my 550!
The old little bike is actually fast :) I love it!

Seems like the battery isnt charging, so thats something i have to look into.

First off...LOVE the bike.  I just got a '77-550 myself.  Really inspired by this build!!  It looks like not much has happened here since January, still working on this one?

Couple things:

Did you do anything to the tank??  It looks like it's a matte finish in these photos.

Did you do any lowering of the suspension on the bike? I really like the stance.

'79 CB650 - Mostly original, doing a bit of a refresh right now.

I would have restored that brown bike.

"Put the parts in a box and forget them"

Why is that ? So you can find them rusted years later and then throw them in the garbage? Why not sell the parts to others that may need them while they are still useful?
Or spray the parts with WD40 to preserve them.

Well he needs to hurry back...inquiring minds want to know! I'm not saying I'm stealing the style of this bike...but I have the same bike, and kind of in love with this build.  different seat...different tires for me, but love the tank and bars.
