clearance problems with O-ring 630 chains
« on: April 29, 2005, 08:52:48 PM »
I have a 750 k8  has anyone used an o-ring chain on this yet.  Should a cheap standard chain wear out in 5000 miles?
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

See post for the K series o-ring chain reference pin and side plate size. What applies to 530 also applies to 630 (5/8 of an inch vs. 3/4 of an inch)
Good luck

Have a 630 on my K7-fitted straight on-no problems (replace both sprockets as well)

You should have no issues fitting an oring 630 chain on your K8 (or K7)  Your stock chain was an Oring!  These 630 chained bikes have a good amount of clearance built in.  If you go with some overly large front sprocket you might have issues.  Sprocket specialists can provide you with sprockets to convert to a 530 chain if your want have save some weight, have a few more chain options and perhaps save some money.  You should put on new sprockets when installing a new chain whether you are converting or not.   An oring chain that is properly maintained/installed should last well over 10K miles.

One of the secrets to getting good chain life is not to hammer it off the line. This stretches hell out of the chain.
Once you're actually mobile-twist that grip!
