I am sure that someone else has done this before, but here is my list of of every seal, gasket, and oring which is listed in the parts books. It is for a 1974 CB550, but I am sure it applies to other years.

I would like to be able to make notes in the list about which parts come in the athena/vesrah kits. This data provided in post #20 and combined into the list below

I was planning on making a similar list for all the bearings, which will mostly be aftermarket, but I think it would be nice.

Curious. I got a gasket set from Bike Bandit for my 550 and it is 16010-323-315. Not the 305 you have listed. I'm i holding the wrong kit or is that a year specific thing?

Welp I am hoping that this list will grow with more info. I would hope people would post info about aftermarket replacements for discontinued or otherwise unavailable parts. I'd like to see the same thing happen for bearings, especially since people have to keep wasting time working with sales reps to find AM bearings that fit.

If it helps, I just ordered a bunch of seals from bikebandit. It all shipped today (except for the tires) so I know they got it from somewhere... They even dredged up those rubber bumper things under your seat...

I think the o-rings were for the oil pump. It is entirely possible I forgot something though ...

Thanks man... I've been trying to put together a list like this for quite some time now but I guess was too daunted and didn't know where to start.

Anyway I one-upped ya and went through the Service Honda website to get prices for each piece and put it on an excel spreadsheet. I then emailed David Silver Spares (DSS) and a few others in order to find out what's included in their so called "complete" engine gasket sets.

DSS uses NE brand gaskets, which I have yet to find any positive feedback about. None of the Athena resellers have gotten the list back to me yet and I see a lot of mixed reviews about those. I'm leaning toward the 55pc Vesrah set from tasmotorsports.com which lists what's included and is $74 + shipping. Unfortunately though this set leaves $102 (if purchased individually through Service Honda) worth of o-rings and seals unaccounted for. See if you can get a list for Athena, otherwise I'll post an update as soon as I get it.

I'm dealing with a '77 550k3 by the way and all the pieces are the same. I think the only things I added to your list is the exhaust gaskets and starter motor cover gasket.

The spreadsheet is attached, let me know if there are any errors.

550 oil seal kits are not easy to find but 500 ones are and the only difference is the 500 pushrod seal is replaced with a blanking plug on the 550 and that is re-usable. I have never found a gasket kit that included any seals.

The only problem i had with an NE set was that it was listed as 550 but had a 500 clutch cover gasket in it.

I added a short list of bearings, just the ones that I could quickly find in the fiche. I figure I will update the list with aftermarket part nmbers as I find them.
