Hey guys, I have a 1980 Suzuki GS 250t that I've been trying to nurse back to life for the past few months, and have encountered a problem that I've probably considered too long, and am likely over-thinking. After getting the carbs all cleaned up (many...many times) and the rust removed from the tank (reason for numerous carb cleanings), I was able to get it to fire, idle, and after a float height adjustment (a little rich at 22mm), rev beautifully in neutral. However, once in gear, it produces very little torque on take off, will nearly stall, and eventually pick up around 4-5k, and run fine up to the top end of 3rd, where it peaks around 8k, and will not pull through 4th at all. The stock air filter is lost somewhere in the graveyard of abandoned motorcycle parts, and the box is currently packed with filter material, I don't know if this is allowing air to move too freely, and causing my problem, or if its an entirely separate issue. If anyone has any idea's, thoughts, or "Hey, moron, do this's" I'd greatly appreciate it.
