Homemade Tool Question
« on: March 26, 2006, 02:29:29 PM »
Anybody know the size of the socket that I need to notch to create a tool capable of removing the clutch hub nut?  I am swap in a new Barnett 9-plate clutch when I change the oil next time, and want to have my tool ready to go before I crack into it.  Thanks!

Just to let you know...the Honda part is not that expensive.  I could give you a price.

That would be great -- have you got a part number?

I got mine from Z-1 Enterprises. Was just over $20. I just used it to swap in the late-model anti-rattle clutch assembly.

I also got a clutch tool from Jeff at ZI as below

Clutch Hub Nut Socket
KL35-9459
K&L
Clutch Hub Nut Socket, 24x20mm
$28.96

The 24mm refers to the inside diameter and is the one for the honda clutch. It uses a 1/2 inch drive.
The tool Jeff sells has both 20 and 24. I looked at others but they looked very cheap and nasty.
