Time for Tires
« on: March 27, 2006, 08:32:00 AM »
Hey Guys....
Getting ready to order some tires for my 77 750, and I read threads on tires until I was crosseyed!
Seems the Brigstones get pretty good press from you guys...
Haven't drug the pegs or pipes on a bike since my youth on my old Bonneville, but want something that's handles normal traffic well and doesn't get too upset with grooves and irregular pavement.
Just wanted to get some opinions.
Bike now has 110/90/19 front...130/90/18 rear...the front is as big as it can go...wondering if a 140 will fit the rear???
Thanks...
HC

The stock rim is too narrow for a 140.

I dropped on Maxxis tires and I am quite happy.  They are a boat load cheaper then Dunlop, Pirrelli, and Bridgestone.  The hold the raod very well and I am a daily rider.

Hey Guys...
Thanks...The s11 is the tire that I was looking at...I'll check into the Maxxis ones too...
The Brigstones  aren't terribly expensive... at least Mail order. I live in a small town and the only supplier would be the Local Honda dealer.
He normally charges full reatail markup for everyting...guess he's the only game in town...
Planning on tuning the wheels while they are off...(old Moto-xer here and a mt biker so that shouldn't be bad).

thanks Eldar...
Prices look good there...
will check on how long to deliver....
Would sure like to have new rubber before I make a trip in a couple of weeks...
Current tires look OK and have lots of wear left...but have NO idea how old they are.

I'm running Bridgestone BT45's and they are awsome.  Come in all the sizes the 550/750 can use and stick to the road like glue.
