Exhuast vs. HP
« on: March 27, 2006, 02:55:20 AM »
When I got my bike I had an after market 2 into 1 exhaust system, non stock.
I was told that this exhaust system would give me 10 extra HP.
Then I read somewhere that a 4 into 1 would also boost HP.
What is the truth about exhaust vs. HP.
I am guessing the manufacture would know what was best for there design.
Thanks
Craig

It is possible to get a performance gain by changing the exhaust, but you'll never get a 10 horse power boost by changing the pipes.

With pods and proper jetting you could get 10 hp.  Also wit h4-1 there is a weight savings.

You will also get a small increase in HP with the use of exhaust wrap....it reduces the exhaust scavenging effect...therefore allowing the exhaust gases to exit the system faster....less backpressure = more HP.

I think I may have to put in 125 jets(120 in there now) for increased HP.
