Topic: CB550 new custom or aftermarket ignition and stator covers

HI,

Does anybody know of a manufacturer that produces aftermarket ignition and stator covers?
I'm working on the last details on my  1976 CB550 and I was hoping to get something that looks a little better than what I have...

http://www.tbmperformance.com/products/Honda-CB750-Racing-Points-Cover.html these are all over used and new I have a old set I am going to blast paint gloss black then sand fins and polish there are covers like this for everything on your engine. Hope this helps. you will need longer bolts for the alt. cover.

The one in the link above is for a 750, notice the vertical placement of the two holding screw holes relative to the fin angle.  On the 550 and smaller engines the screw hole placement is closer to horizontal, being about the 10 and 4 O-clock positions.  They are hard to find and when you do run across a good one they usually cost an arm and a leg, new ones run upwards of $90.

I don't want you all to eat your hearts out, but here is one I scored earlier today on E-Bay.  The guy told me he made 4 of them, I asked him if he had any interest in producing them and offering them here.  Haven't heard back from him on that.

I do have a couple sets of the silver finned cover sets like on forum member "Traveler"  CB550.

I stopped making them because they were a pain, I started a newdesign and got sidetracked with the body covers.....if there is enough interest I can get back into them.

If you want a set of the silver finned ones just let me know (you can paint them black)

The hole positions of the points covers are different between the 550 & 750.  The fin angle will be wrong with a 750 cover on a 550.
