Hormel
« on: January 24, 2011, 04:40:33 PM »
I "made" the recipe on the side of the Hormel Tamales can. It involves Hormel Chili, with Hormel Tamales on top with onions and cheese on that.

Delicious.

Jack Lalanne died at 96 and he said if it tastes good spit it out.  Ernie Borgnine is 94 and he has enjoyed all the vices.  and how about that wilfred brimley.  I bet he has eaten his share of spam.  My dad said spam kept him alive in the pacific for 3 years.

My grandfather worked and retired from Hormel. He swore by their products.

Hormel Tamales??!!

They don't give us Canadians that product (yet?)

I like Spam on the BBQ sliced thin and toasty. Gets rid of most of the grease but not the sodium unfortunately. I can't eat it very often.

Thanks.
When I check your link, Amazon informs that they are unable to ship this product to my address.
Ha!
Probably I could buy ammo on Amazon, but not Hormel Tamales.
I'll pick some up on my next stateside trip, as a special treat

You realize, of course, that Hormel puts into Spam what it refused to put in any of its other products, to include its Chili, various bean products, and the infamous artery-clogging Corn-Beef-Hash, extra greasy version.

Hmmmmm, gotta love the stuff.  Why?  Because its got lots of grease and salt, and besides, we were told to love it, that's why.

That's what makes it taste so good. What you don't know wont hurt you :) (except for the clogged and hardened arteries)

I know a guy who is a plant engineer for Hormel.  While visiting he took me on a tour of the operation while it was shut down for the day.  Saw all the shall we say "apparatus".  Best not to think about what goes on in there.

I remember reading somewhere that in an interview Stalin was asked what was the most important aid that the U.S. sent to Russia during WWII.  Spam was his reply.
