hey guys.  i have a magura single pull throttle assembly and i was thinking of using it in my build as it's pretty clean and i think pretty cool.  it's a side exit unit with the tension adjuster.  i was wondering what i would need to "convert" my bike to use this successfully. 

also, are there any downsides to using a single pull aside from losing one cable and the potential "safety" concerns it causes?  thanks guys!

Just install an ignition safety strap that you attach to your wrist when riding.

You know, drag bike style, so if the throttle sticks WFO and you bail, the bike powers down before careening into the gas pumps at the corner Exxon.

i think there was a thread on this about a month or 2 back where somone had that problem with the throttle sticking wide open on the highway no way of slowing it down and blew his motor or something like that.. like funjimmy said you will need a safety strap

I think there is a thread about the runaway throttle. Maybe lookup posts by member "tugboat(?)."

I just got new throttle cables for my F3 and the push didn't fit, so I guess I "converted" mine to a single cable.  ;) I do plan on getting the right one soon.

I think a redundant return spring is in order (at least).
Like instead of just one big one, two smaller ones.

I still prefer the two cable system, though.  Not cool being injured in the hospital.  (Or replacing a blown up engine.)

A kill switch on the right handlebar is advisable.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

looks like i'll try to sell the Maruga unit and stick with a clean 2 cable unit!  thanks for the advice guys, i def. don't want to chance a stuck cable!!

and i do have a head spring to snap the carbs shut on my PD mount.  you can see it on the bottom, it works pretty well!!  i might ditch it in favor of 2 lighter weight springs like TT said.  redundancy would be nice for piece of mind!

I'm running a single cable on my build since I'm using an internal throttle.
The carbs have several springs that are fairly strong to assist in closure once the throttle is released or dialed back.
The internal unit itself also has a fairly strong internal spring to assist in throttling down.
This all said, I have a kill switch right at my thumb.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Only the early 750 carbs have a spring per carb.  When that changed, they got ONE return spring and a two cable system, so they can be pulled closed in the event of a spring failure.
