Dust boots
« on: January 26, 2011, 08:59:42 am »
I'm looking to replace the gators on my 550k1 with something like these. But I can't find any that say they fit. Anyone know where to get some for my bike or any that cross over and match my forks?

I was in the process of posting when you replied  ;)

So the 750 k2 part fork numbers match the 550k1 so I assume that the fit. If thats wrong, now would be the time to speak up ;D

Im assuming the forks on each bike are the same size.

I think the problem is your fork lowers on your 500 are made for gators. Not sure what would hold the dust boots in place. Anybody do this operation?

I have a pair of new dust boots for a 550 (35mm, 77/78).  Didn't use them when I went to a solid fork brace which used 79+ DOHC flat dust seals.  PM me if they will work for you, as I was about to list them and some other left over stuff in the For Sale.
