I just got my 890cc pistons(manufactured in the early 70's) back from MTC. They opened the oil ring grooves for me so I could use the modern 3-piece rings. New rings cost me around $24 per piston. MTC is in Florida and they have a website you can contact them through. Rings they sent me are manufactured by Hastings.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

CB350 68+ perhaps but you'd need oversize. My 812 uses the standard CB350 ring. Would that be .5 over or 1 over? Just check the rings thicknesses.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

The only set of MTC 836 pistons I've had used 4th oversize (1.00 over) CB350 rings.  I've actually still got a set if you find that's what you need for your pistons.  They're getting harder to come by.  Measure your ring grooves and post up the results and we'll help you figure out what you need.  PM me if I don't get back to you, I don't always check in the regular bikes section.
