Wow that's a time-consuming question.  I've got about 7K songs on my ipod right now (160gb classic).  We have all of our music ripped to an external hard drive in windows loss-less format then I add them to Itunes.

I'm trying to find a way to copy the folders (artist names) from windows explorer but haven't gotten it to work yet.  Some highlights:

Amos Lee
Arcade Fire
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Bill Withers
Black Eyed Peas
Brandi Carlile
Cee Lo Green
Dave Matthews
David Bowie
Deer Tick
Diana Krall
Dixie Chicks
Dr Dre
Drive-by Truckers

Those are the highlights for A - D...

I'll play - my top 5 (this week)

1. Black Angels - Passover
2. Modest Mouse - We were dead before the ship even sank
3. My Morning Jacket - Live at Bonaroo
4. Pearl Jam - 10  (haven't given that a listen for many years)
5. Queens of the Stone Age - Lullabies to parallyze

Don't know what I'd do without my ipod.   I've still got every CD I've ever bought in boxes in a closet.  I still buy CDs vs buying at itunes.....don't really know why.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.
