Okay guys and gals. This one has always intrigued me, and seeing that there hasn't been a poll for a while I thought I'd throw this one in for good measure. Most of us are prone to naming things we have an 'affection' for, such as our dog or canary or even our family car. I know a lot of us have names for our bikes, so how about dropping your guards and admitting (even ashamedly if you like) that you really do love your machine and let us know what you call it / him / her. I'll start by telling you that my K2 is known as "The 4" and it's a bloke.  If I had another I'd name it Sir Edmund. Now there's a cryptic one for you. The first one to guess why I'd call a K2 "Sir Edmund" gets a chocolate Freddo Frog. The reason there are 5 options is not so you can call your bike everything you like, but to enable you to name the whole family - if you have at least 5 bikes.

the bikes name has changed to baby BUT,  you should really add an option for trans gender... you'll understand soon... i bought my 350 with my ex-girlfriend to teach her how to ride.  so we named it atom and eve.  atom- because it was the bomb for me to have a motorcycle once again after being bikeless for 5 years and eve for the ex because it was her first time ever on a motocycle... get it?  play on words... adam and eve?  atom bomb?   :D  now she is baby tho... obviously because she is my baby!

I found myself calling her Lady.  She really has class and hides her age well.  She is faithful

Okay McPuffet. I'll forgive you for this one, mainly because you're a Pom. I know you have funny accents over there (and don't get your dander up - my Nan was from Lancashire) but here in Oz we call it 'chocolate'. And for those of you who are still wondering - a Freddo Frog is a chocolate shaped frog, not a bar as such. Unt, vell dun Einyodeler mein friend. K2 - Mt Everest - Sir Edmund Hillary. Go to the top of the class / mountain.  Actually, I wanted to call my bike Fonda, but when my 'pillion in a million' wife found out it was short for Fonda Whore - that was it!

Dander? Read anything into that you want, but mainly "back". In other words, "don't get your back up", "don't get a dose of the sh!ts" etc etc. It's amazing what a cultural exchange centre this internet/forum is. You learn something every day.

Here's your useless bit of knowledge for the day.

"Get yer dander up" is equivilant to losing one's temper.

It's actually a dog reference. When a dog is upset their hair down the spine stands up. This is true for a lot of animals (Cats do it too). Dander is a part of hair technically.

Dander (noun) pertaining to hair alt. dander-ruf or dandruf, wot covers your shoulder an back - see also "getting back up".

My bike doesnt have a name. Well, perhaps it does: Trash.....as in,

"Ahem, ah, I´ll just pop out with the trash, dear, be back in an hour a second"

"Hmmm?, Ok, remember to put the dog out..."

'K.......vroom, vroom, (yelp!) VROOOOOOOOOM...

"Dear...?"

Somebody in the old forum commented that they called their CB750 "cebu". Everytime I look at mine I can't help but seeing a cebu on it.

Furthermore, the word "bike" in spanish is a female word, so it's very easy to give a bike female names, as bikes are suppoused to be ridden, the harder the better.
