Project CB550 Caferacer
« on: March 17, 2011, 07:16:44 PM »
Here are the pics and my updates from my 1976 CB 550 project. I got this bike for free from my dad. Its a 76 cb550 and is in great shape with only 8,400 miles! but I have to make some major changes! I actually got this bike spring 2010 and after starting school, having a kid, buying a house and finding time to relax and maintain my sanity I have finally started on my first project ever. Im really stoked and doing a lot of brain storming on ideas, colors, customizations and looking at tons of different website and I am finding alot of kick ass inspirational bikes out there. Im open to suggestions because i am definately new to this so feel free to comment and share your ideas, much appreciated.

Can't see any photos mate. If you have a 1976 bike with only eight and half thousand original miles on it, don't chop it up into a cafe. Get a basket case for that. An original bike is worth way more.

Its too late to turn back now! This is my first tiem actually doing a forum so I apologize, im new to this whole forum thing. My pics files are way to big ill retake some more and post them in the next few days or so. But here are a number of parts that i have taken care of already. I have trimmed the front and rear fenders and beadblaster them as wll as disassembled the fork assemblies and bead blasted them as well. This will all be getting painted. I also blasted the tank and front caliper assembly. I will eventually upgrade the front brakes but for now that will do.
