Yeah, true for most carbs mate, but not PD's.
The pilot jets are pressed in (not screwed in like early K's and F's) and would be impossible to remove and replace with the carbs attached to the engine. No amount of carb cleaner sprayed in their general direction will unblock PD pilot jets, the only way is to remove the carbs, remove the float assembly's and twist the pilot jets out with multi-grip locking pliers, or similar.
The BEST way to clean them is to remove both jets and the airscrews and spray carb cleaner through every orifice to ensure there are no blockages, while the jets are soaking in carb cleaner, (or brake cleaner, my preference) then use an oxy/acetylene torch tip cleaner to make sure the jets are perfectly clear. Then use compressed air to blow through all the orifices to ensure everything is clear before re-assembly, reassemble your carbs, set your float levels, (as per the free down-loadable workshop manuals available in the FAQ section) set your air screws at 1.5 turns out (you're not supposed to touch them because the EPA will get mad, so Honda omitted than information) and "bench synch" your carbs on your coffee table, with a piece of wire.
If it's all too much mate, just send me an air ticket and I'll come over and do it for you. Better make sure your beer fridge is full, cleaning carbs is thirsty work.........
