My dad came up with that pin-stripe cross over on the tank. It looks a bit vintage, which is very cool.

All the white is actually pearl, it was a tri-stage paint. A lot of work for a few stripes...

wow... the tank and tail came out really well. I keep seeing these threads about the shotty quality of the BCR stuff. Sucks because I was looking at picking up a tank/tail combo from them in the near future.

Does anyone know if there is some sort of glue, or resin, or something that I can put on the paint around the gas cap area to keep gas from getting under the paint?

Also, anyone have recommendations for the engine mounts, should they be the same color as the frame, or chrome?

I have been told that the metal around the gas cap should be bare where it will make contact gas to avoid getting gas under the paint. I am not surewhat that means for a gas cap like the one I am using since gas could come up around the large hole or from all the screw holes.

On a related note, anyone know what bcr coats their tanks with? I forgot to leak test it while its exterior was bare.

I would contact them/him on Monday. Send him pics and tell him how disgusted you are and have been with the product. Show him the pics of all the work you had to do to get the tank in the condition you have it in currently.. Unless you had the tank apart and redid the inner workings it looks as if it was jacked and still sent it off knowing it was jacked....

I have no clue whatsoever. You may want to post a new thread on the tank alone. It looks like it was mended together then sent.

Well there are a few sections alone the bottom that dont look like that. I suppose they could have touched up the welds and messed up the liner. Although it is likely related to the removal of the body filler.

I will see how many hits I get in this thread and if no one bites then I will start one just about liner.

Just an fyi to anyone following this. I have contacted BCR, and they have been SUPER helpfull and very willing to get everything resolved. I wont go into detail, but I just figured I would throw that out there.

Here is the frame painted. We ran out of paint after doing the frame and swing arm, leaving the engine mounts, torsion bar, and kickstand un painted. I dont think I want to buy anymore paint so I think chrome it is.

I am really happy with this color. It is hard to tell from the pictures but it has a LOT of depth, a lot of effect, and almost like a reddish bronze color. Both the red and the pearl are 2011 Chrysler colors.

I am going to take pictures of it with a real camera tomorrow.

Not to pry, but what are they going to do? I know you said you won't go into detail but I am very curious. you and your dad if I am correct have put so much effort into your build and the shotty work down by BCR, if I was you I would go ape #$%*. Your bike has given me ideas on my own build and I dont want you to get worked over here bud.

I think that until I post otherwise, it is safe to assume that we are satisfied with the outcome. If for some reason that changes as we go forwards, then I'll be sure to post an update about it.

I really wanted to put the tail light in for fun. Plus, when the seat was just in primer it was already getting tight to put the light in so I was concerned. But, everything except the chrome trim fit (barely). I still want to take some material off just to avoid scratching the paint int he future.

Very thing is looking great. BCR is a very good company and they/he tend to be very helpful he is really concerned about quality and making sure the customer is happy. So many cafe parts companies are not. I am sure the tank thing will get sorted to everyones happiness if it has not already been.
