frustrated to the point of losing a friend!!!
« on: February 14, 2011, 06:39:29 PM »
Nearly 6 weeks ago I ordered a starter button for my CB400F from Bike Bandit and because I have a friend Craig in Phoenix, I thought it would be easier to have Bike Bandit ship the switch to Craig instead of shipping it to me so he could bring it to me the next week when we planned a meeting... WRONG!!!!
My friend Craig was supposed to bring it to the meeting but didn't because it didn't arrive at his office before he left. NO FAULT OF BIKE BANDIT!!!!
SO then he said "why don't I give it to Steve" who is going to be at the Barret Jackson auctions next week... so I said "great"... WRONG!!!!
Steve and Craig did not meet up as planned.... so Craig says "why don't you pick it up at our meetings in two weeks?" ( we meet a lot...) to which I said "NO!! enough already!!! If I wait much longer, I'll forget how the bike goes back together!!! Please air express mail it ASAP!!"

That was three weeks ago and I still don't have my switch and I met Craig last week in Phoenix for the damn meeting..... >:(

Sometimes the easiest way of doing something is the most obvious!!!
p.s. Bike Bandit extra freight to Canada plus Canadian Customs made it easy to do the "hand off" idea... WRONG ANSWER

i always pay the extra to get my parts to the door even though i live like walking distance to the border here.. its not so much the problem of going down to the states its coming back Canadian customs are douche bags... so all the parts come to my door usually ends up only in customs for a day no problems no extra charges

Yep,  I'd dump a good friend over an insignificant piece of plastic, in a heartbeat - you betcha.  If they can't produce on command what good are they?

+1.

That would also leave the responsibility of receiving your future shipments where it belongs. With you!

I know shipping into Canada can be a pain in the arse.
That’s why I have a package depot in the US to receive my shipments, and I find Canada Customs to be great on my return into Canada.

Are you talking the button? That should go letter rate for 2 or 3 bux..
Surely BB has found that no customers want to get hosed on shipping for small stuff like gaskets, o-rings etc.... at least i hope they did..

Some people just cant be counted on, those are the ones that will ruin a road trip on a bike for you.. beware..

Sounds like you're the one creating the frustration for your friends. All over a couple of bucks shipping?  They probably think "this tightwad sure is a PITA"

These are the stories that really get me cheesed!
They get on some big power trip, just because they can.
In my world, the Canada Customs agents should get out and welcome you back home.
Maybe even give you a big hug or something……other than a cavity search.  :o

They do if you're American! (and married to a canadian, of course) Funny that my wife mails things home two weeks before they are supposed to get there. I ask her if they still use dog sleds for the mail. She is still amazed at how quick the USPO is even after 13 years of living down here.

Finally got the part!!! YYYeeeeaaaaa!!!!!!

Took three weeks less a day to go from Phoenix to Calgary!!

Perhaps I was a little hasty in putting blame on my friend when really my frustrations should be directed to US mail service and Candian Customs!
