What was that movie . . . "Dude, Where's My Car?"

That was an amazing piece of video. Odd that the only guy who moved his car was the Land Rover with the snorkel.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Holy Shiite!! It's amazing what water can do! I like the guy at the begining of the video asking "Should we move our cars?". I think the water took care of that for them... :'( :'(

My 1st thought at the begining was why is no one moving their cars?

Oh well ::)

The main reason was that it happened so fast......Amazing the power of the water. Now to make things worse we have a category 5 cyclone with 180-200 mph winds and 60-100 miles wide, hitting the Queensland coast in about 12 hours, its the biggest storm to ever hit anywhere in Australia..... :o

Never underestimate the raw power of rushing water. Having lived for awhile in a canyon area of Los Angeles, I can attest to the awesome power of water on the run. Respect it.

Ah Mick, the "Lucky Country" is getting a bit of a hidding lately, my daughter just flew into Napier today and I think she's pretty happy to be out of Brissie for a while. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

My sister and her husband have just (hopefully) arrived in Brisbane after evacuating from the coastal resort near Cairns where they live, but my brother who lives in Townsville says he's got plenty of Bourbon and is staying put. I hope he's still in one piece this time tomorrow.........  :-\
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Sounds like he spent some time in New Orleans, they have hurricane parties whenever they are forecast there.

Missed out on an inch of ice that was part of the forecast, but blizzard conditions this morming. Chicago gets it today.

Went to look for breakfast at 5:00 yesterday. Mostly nothing open other than this one diner where they seem to take pride in living dangerously and staying open, and were even open 10 minutes before their usual 6 O'clock.

Nothing else regularly 24 hr. was open.

God I'm seriously going to fit aircon, it's been like mid 30's today and it's just too hot to think, our heat aint like Aussie heat. ;)
Must get some more booze tomorrow too, hope that Yasi doesn't get it into her head to spin this way after lashing Aus, we get all our weather second hand from across the Tasman sea. :(

Well I woke my brother up at 0500 (his time) to see if I needed to get my black suit dry-cleaned, but he was fine, if a little hung over.

There isn't a tree standing as far as he could see thru his bloodshot eyes, every tree on his 5 acre property was torn out and the same went for the forest that his property backs onto, but his house survived pretty much intact, and he was off to shoot some footage for the local TV news.

It appears that the category 5 hurricane missed the more populated areas, so while there is some pretty bad asset damage, so far, no one's been killed or seriously injured. Thank God. Good old Queensland, "Beautiful one day, gone the next!"  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.
