Who is a good supplier for parts?
« on: February 03, 2011, 06:35:07 AM »
I'm on my forth parts vendor attempt. The first three have not filled my order, not responded to e mails or phone calls; basically just dropped out of existence, it seems. One of them is listed in the FAQ section of this forum, presumably as a 'preferred' vendor.  I realize you are probably going to encounter some flakes in this persuit- but this is rediculous. The first try- I gave them 3 weeks to come up with some kind of response; nothin'. The second try (different vendor)- no better results after two weeks for an order they said would take 4 days to ship.

Can some of you recommend a reputable, reliable supplier for parts for my 1971 CB 500? I'm really not THAT pickey on the parts I need; OEM, aftermarket, NOS, used, replicas, whatever. And they are seemingly simple parts- oil filter, air filter, petcock, tank cushion. I'm sure I could get some of this stuff from my local Honda dealer- but I'm trying to establish a good mail-order supplier without doing the Ebay dance.

I'll appreciate your advice and experience.

I buy most of my stuff, from "buy it now" ebay stores, I have have used "z-1 enterprises" very fast shipping on what they have.

the thing about the ebay stores, the feed back system and using paypal you know you can get you money back

I just put in 2 orders i'll let you know but the only time I have ever been bit on ebay is as a seller.

I have purchased some things from ebay and other things from partsnmore.com. I got carb jets and a stainless steel hardware kit from z1enterprises.com. Worst case scenario you can get stuff from bikebandit.com. Parts are usually more expensive there but they have a lot of the harder to find stuff. You can also find people on the sohc4 forum with parts for sale. If you think you might want to buy something just ask if someone has bought from the seller before and people should be able to help you out.
