campagnolo cast wheels
« on: February 04, 2011, 12:42:00 PM »
apparently Campagnolo (known for their bicycle components) made some wheels for a short time. Possibly out of magnesium.

here is the only little picture i could find

anyone know anything about them? are they impossibly rare/expensive? what bikes they came on if any?

well it its campy, then yes, they're very expensive! Not totally surprising they would go that venture, but interesting they dropped out of it so fast.

Yeah, if it is campy it has to be $$$ I'm sure.

Marvic is currently making these in all sizes including some modern sizes, there is also a Japanese company making them as well only forged.
The Japanese ones are about twice the price of the Marvic wheels...

campagnolo made racing wheels for years , not so many of the drum brake ones [ on the harley davidson 250s and 350s ridden by walter villa etc in the 70's ] but loads of the disc brake ones , i used to buy them because they where cheaper than dymags . still have some rears left but all the fronts died a painful death.  they made them up until the mid 80s i think, they where standard fitment on mba 125s
