Quick Detach Windshield with Clubmans? Anyone used/seen one?
« on: January 31, 2011, 06:52:45 PM »
Mostly, I ride my bike in town, but every once in a while I need to take it on the freeway/highway and I would like a quick detach fairing. Gets a little squirrelly with the overpasses and trucks. I have a vetter fairing but that is bastard to get on and off.

I have read some threads about it. And so far this is what I have come up with.

Slipstreamer - this is a couple years old and I cant find one anywhere for $45, but I think it might mount to the clubmans alright.

Does anyone use this windshield or recommend one that I can just pop on real quick for highway trips?

I put a Slipstreamer S-08 on the '77 550 - taller and wider than the one on the link. I like it - takes the wind off my chest.

Obviously adds safety from bugs, gravels, etc. (no more bugs on my face shield). I got it @ $100 del.

At first installation, if you have some buffeting, you can raise the windshield and/or alter the angle. Experiment until you get it to "fit you". I'm 5'-10" and found I needed it high as it will go (although an angle change would likely accomodate taller folks).

It is a "quick release" but personally, I see no reason to take it off.
