Engine mount bolts
« on: February 06, 2011, 07:42:52 PM »
G'day and thanks for your time
Does anyone know the size of the engine mount bolts at the front of a 71 model CB750.  The brackets are bolted to the frame at the front of the engine but the 2 bolts that actually go through the engine cases are missing.

Its a 10mmx50mm on the right, 10x80 on the left. Still available from Honda, probably a real fine thread. Standard hardware is fine, IMO, but likely a different thread pitch, so depends how picky you are being about correctness. You have to be careful if you don't buy OEM hardware that the 10mm nuts you get will fit in the casting of the engine, where they nestle.

The thread for those bolts is M10 x 1.25.  I believe the correct nuts have a 17mm hex "to nestle" in the cases.  Some 10mm nuts have a 14mm hex.
