IMO if any dirt was in there, just buy a new axle, they're pretty cheap these days most everywhere, specially if you have the core for it. new boot will be good, but any dirt that was in there has already started to wear stuff out. Boot will work, but do you want to do it again down the road a bit when it does start clunking? I wouldn't do a boot kit on my own car (i'm an auto mechanic) because it takes a bit more work, and you're just putting the old (already contaminated by dirt!) parts back in. But yeah, when you put it in it'll take a little push pull motion to get it to pop back into place, not that hard standing up, on the ground may take a little more sonofabi*ching to get in. Good luck!
