Baby Momma Rant
« on: February 06, 2011, 08:54:18 AM »
i hate people who care more about themselves then there children ... There comes a point in life when everything revolves around someone other than you, when "fun" no longer means bar hopping or drinking too much but instead means board games & bedtime stories & sleeping in means 8 a.m. Becoming a parent doesn't change you,it's realizing that the little person you made deserves the best & all of your free time! .... certain people just don't get it , i'm sick of hearing about how hard life is from weak minded #$%*ers that only make there own lives harder ... people that don't have money to feed there children , but always make it out to the bar every weekend, and always have beer in the fridge .. Depriving children of simple pleasures that we never had , so you can have the simple pleasures that you've ALWAYS had ..and don't think for one second that your kids don't notice that stuff ..cuz they do ... your a piece of #$%* low life, and i hope your enjoying the life i pay for

This one is for you Spikey, you don't have to like the M&M to appreciate the sentiment.

Manny I feel ya.. I just spent the morning making sock puppets while im sure my ex is hung over. I honestly stopped worrying about this a while back though since dads like us are rare and the systems doesn't recognize what we do. Just remember our kids see what we do for them and thats really all that matters.

Oh I can definitely relate to this.  Luckily, I have full custody....so, i get to call most of the shots.  Its just ridiculous some of the stuff you get forced to put up with because of crazy women that, sadly, had your children.  But, my son makes it sooooo worth being forced to have a low life permanantly attached to my life.

I'm with ya.  I have a nephew.  I've taught him how to throw a football, build a campfire, snowboard, basically all the stuff your dad is supposed to do when you are a kid.   All his frickin' jackass of a father does is pick him up from my mother's house on "his" days and shove him in an apartment with some videos.

He's such a nice kid he never says anything derogatory about his dad, but you can see the pain in his face sometimes.   Makes me want to kick the crap out of his dad.
His dad always has a new truck and plenty of beer in the fridge.

Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Isn't it strange that you need a License to operate a Automobile or Motorcycle which is very simple compared to caring properly for a child.

I was the first of my friends to become a proud parent. I tell them "marriage doesnt change a thing, but having a kid is the meaning of life". My buddy Brian kind of shrugged off my comment (words of wisdom), then when his daughter was 1 week old he told me that I was right. Now we dont get together as much to talk about bikes, or go to shows, but when we do; the conversations always go back to our kids.

There comes a point in life when everything revolves around someone other than you

I am all too familiar with this.  I have had my 400 in the build section for quite some time now and just recently my three younger boys needed newer bikes, so I bought all the parts needed to make 3 completes the way they wanted, then went in the garage and had each one of them help me assemble the bikes.  The money I spent on those bikes could have easily bought me some nice parts for my build, but then I wouldn’t have seen the excitement on their faces when they rode them for the first time.  The way I see it is these kinds of sacrifices are only temporary setbacks for me, but lifetime memories for my children.

Just keep being the father that you know your child needs. Don't talk smack about his mother in front of him. Let him find out how bad of a parent she is on his own. Always be there for him.
I can relate, because I was also a kid like yours, but without a father in the picture. Every weekend I would get pawned off on relatives, so that my mom could get her party on. I didn't let it define who I am today.
You're not alone, and your kid needs you now, more than ever.
