Following guidelines and introducing myself..............
New to the forum and found some very interesting discussions and related help.
I live in Newcastle, NSW Australia and work in the Hunter Valley.
My previous rides are varied and include;
197?? Yamaha DT175 - A real classic road/trail and also an easy way how to learn to ride. (Fall, get-up and try again)
1989 Kawasaki KX125 - Stayed with the 2 bangers for a bit and needed to keep up with my mates on the chook chasers.
1981 Yamaha RD250LC - Loved it. Only sold it to but a car. I would buy it back if I ever saw it again.
1982 ish Suzuki DR 250 - An impulse but and have forever regretted it! Saved it from the grave, spent hundreds and still don't know why......
1980 Yamaha RD250LC - Ex-race bike. It was headed for the grave as well. $$ was an issue and it ended up in a go-cart frame. Sad times.
1999 Honda XR200 - After an absence I decided to build a bike for my son. It was pretty bad and needed a heart transplant. (LIfan 200cc mod. and sold not long after)
197?? Honda XL 250 - Advertised sooo cheap and I picked it up an hour later. Rode it for a while but sold before an interstate move.
1998 Honda Rebel - Cheap turn around purchase to get a few $$ in the bank. I honestly never rode it. (ps - I'm 6ft tall)
2006 Honda CR125 - Moved my son up to a chook chaser. He ended up needing a car when he got his P's so sold after 6 months. That thing was a hand-full....
2006 Kawasaki GPX 250 - Time to get my licence. Started at the bottom. Cheap and easy to re-sell.
1988 Honda GB500TT - Seen one advertised in WA. $5000 and 1 week later in the shed. Still is..........thump.........thump.......thump......
1976 Honda CB400/4 - Now this is where it ends at the moment. Cafe Racer build in progress. Keeps me at home and out of trouble!
So overall I prefer Honda's but not impartial to other makes.
I am getting closer to 40 and trying to enjoy those things we liked years ago - Hanging out with mates, riding bikes and talking about how we used to do it.
I hope to say g'day to others with similar interests and pass on any help to younger (Or older members) where I can.
