Clip on bar Q
« on: February 08, 2011, 09:39:58 PM »
Hey, I know it's been discussed before, but i'm having a hard time finding in the search what i'm looking for. Clip on bars that you don't have to remove the fork tubes to get on, the clamp has 2 parts so they can go on without messin with the tree (I'd try, but untill i get new forks, the rusty one's are not coming out for that amount of trouble)

So what's out there?

I've seen several clamshell designs. But finding them in 35mm is another story altogether.

I just installed vortex clipons last weekend it is unbelievably easy just loosen the 2 bolts for each fork, slide down 2 inches, slide clipons on, put back, tighten bolts. Simple as that, really.

To answer your question Woodcraft is a brand that make the ones you are talking about.

But it really is super easy either way.

i'd do the slip down then up thing, exept my forks are extremely rusty, and i don't wanna pound on them that hard to get them out, then in. gonna try and find some clamshell clipons. I know i saw someone on here had a set, and posted about them, with risers... ugh. i'll keep searching.

As Dyskord said; Woodcraft are the brand you want and they make them in 35mm:
