Topic: 350f front hub

Is the front bearing retainer a right hand thread?  If so I am pretty sure the shop I stopped at screwed up my hub.  Thanks

I think it's a right hand thread. What's the problem?

the tried to remove it for me since I don't have the correct tool.  From the looks of it they went the usual direction to get things off and may have stripped the threads and locked the retainer in place.  Also the retainer is beat to hell so I think they used the same tools that I could have in my garage.  I may be looking for a new front hub soon unless someone can inform me that the retainer is a regular thread.

Pic added....After looking at the thread I can see I think they went the correct direction.  If I remember correctly they said it turned about 2 full rotations and then stopped.

Yes it is a normal right hand thread. hub looks ok......carry on, they do get destroyed quite often when they have not been out for a while and if the stakes have not been drilled. the retainer is still available new.

Sweet.  That is what I wanted to hear.  I will just pound away on it and just order a new retainer.

I had to break one into pieces one time because it was so stuck. Remember to strike the new one when you install it.

I got the retainer out yesterday but it is fubar.  I will be ordering a new one soon.  What do you mean by striking it?

Take a centerpunch and put a couple of "strikes" to lock the new lock ring in place. Not too hard though. You can see them in your pic.

Yes, those little circles punched into the original piece you can see in the pick are the strikes.
