How much mate? Got any pics? I'm interested! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Well Terry just got off the phone with the "original owner" of the bike that I bought 20 years ago and he informed me that it is NOT a mag. He said originally it was a points distributor that he changed over to a pointless. So it is not that HUGE distribor sticking out of the housing. He said Russ Collins sold 2 different types. One was the big mag and the other used a volkswagon dis.. That is what I have. I saw the housing alone "No dis."bid up to 400$ on E-bay the other day. And also saw another that had the dis. which was exactly like the one I have "less wires and crank gear" go for 700$. So I don't really know what to ask for it. Sorry if I misinformed ya on the "mag" thing but that is how the 700$ dis. was titled on E-bay

That looks like the Vertex type, I think he is selling the shorter distributor type...

Anyone ever see a Joe Hunt mag for the CB 750, they are angle drive and pretty cool looking..

Thanks mate, it sounds pretty good, but I'll pass. I've got a couple of ARD MK3 magneto's here, and a Fairbanks Morse magneto similar to the ones used on the MK1 ARD's, so I think I'll have a crack at building my own, like I think Frank did? Cheers, Terry. ;D

Allright, I'll bite.
First question: is it complete?
Second question: does it work (in: is it functional)?
Third question: if we'd work this out, care to ship to Europe?

It is complete but as of right now I can't find the crank gear. Wether or not it works I don't know as I do not have a cb750 in running cond.. Just a bunch of parts from an old dragbike and several stockers. If you are serious I could get your e-mail and send to you  any info or pictures that you'd like. Let me know.  Thanks, Cory

Hi Cory,
I will PM my email to you. In the meantime keep looking for that crank gear, perhaps it is still on the crank?

It's very similar to a worm gear like one you'd find in a transmission for the speedo cable.

Question is, has the gear been found?
Maybe there is another forum member who is in possesion of a spare gear?

Here's a R.C. Kawasaki setup with a mallory duel point distributor.  The R.C. angle drive will accept any magneto or
distributor that is for a type 1 VW engine. Setup with a MSD distributor would be a great way to go.  ;)

This is what the gear with the timing marks looks like..........

It's here, it's just a matter of diggin' for it. Been a little"pre-occupied "wife just got let go after 10 years of service so there are other priorities at the moment. You'll be the 1st person I contact in private E-mail since you have showed interest in it first. Be patient with me.  Thanks, Cory
