Quieting a 1973 350F
« on: April 30, 2005, 10:52:15 AM »
Just got a 350F with 2 into 1 dual exhausts back on the road and it is a panic! It is also loud! The exhaust pipes look like cruiser pipes and I think they have no baffles. The diameter of the pipes is slightly more than 60 millimeters (a little less than 2 1/2 inches).

Does anyone know of after market baffles that can be inserted in the pipes? Or perhaps a way of putting some packing in the pipes such that it stays there?

Thanks for any suggestions

Years ago I got a set of 4 into 2 mufflers from J. C. Whitney in Chicago.  They were very laud & raspy.  Also came with a tag: Proudly made in the USA.  I had to scrap them or park the bike as there was no way to insert a baffle.
