What should I do with these bar stools?

I got these bar stools for free the other day and can't decide what to do with them.  They are very sturdy and will clean up quite nicely as they are, however the wood is scuffed in the normal places.  Should I strip them down and re stain them?  Paint them?  Recover the seat?  What are your thoughts?

i would strip them sand them and re stain them paint will look cheese
i would also take the red seat off and get them redone in black maybe

I'm with Roach on that, except it looks like the red matches the bike in your avatar.  The stools are for sitting admiring the bike after a day of riding, right?

They need some pod filters or velocity stacks. 

....And a hump on the back rest.

...and oversize skid feet.
