CB750 K8 accel pump cover supposed to have this hole?

I am rebuilding the carbs on my CB750k8. Can someone tell me if the accellerator pump cover is supposed to have this hole in the bottom or did a previous owner modify? Im thinking that it shouldnt be there, if not do you think I could close it up with JB Weld after
Getting the check ball and spring freed up?
This is my 1st post after lurking for a few months, so hopefully the picture post correctly.

Yes, I can push on the check ball through that bottom hole.

instead of doing anything to that one, like plugging the hole, maybe it would be better to find an unmolested one?

No that hole is not supposed to be there. If you are taking the check valve apart you MAY be able to fix it. The problem is it has to cup shaped inside for the ball to sit in. looks like someone tried to drill it out probably from the inside and went to far :(

Bollingball, I think you may be correct.
I have used the HONDACHOPPER SITE and disasembled. I looks like the seat area may have been affected too. As the seat is not even all the way around where the ball sits.
I will probably have to replace.

I'm telling you for sure now :D. that is the fuel side of the valve it will leak.
