It's probably easier than all this, but I sent a request in to a place I had retainers made to see if they could supply. I'll let you know.

Hey Mike,

Pure coincidence, but I'm working on it. Will get back on this subject.

If we can get Ti hex stock in right size they will be easy.. I doubt that the tap would be a problem..

Mike,

Pete Lidster in the UK will make some for you - pete@ti64.co.uk
His titanium stuff is more a work of art, shame to use it on the bike. He does all sorts too - spindles, bolts, whatever. I'm sure he'd send to the US...

Sorry Mike nothing at Trick Titanium. He suggested a place in Ohio that I called and that didn't pan out either. Tha last fellow suggested Earls but I fiqured you would know if they offered such hardware.

Looks like you have options now anyway even if it takes a little longer.

Those with my lightened rocker arms, and you will have the world by the tail!

I have steel nuts sourced from a Yamaha street bike that are half the height, so they turn out to be very light, but they are 2.50 USD each. So if you can purchase Ti for the same...go for it.

Watch out or ...sudden acceleration!

man 6-8 weeks huh?  well it was suggested to me to get new rocker arm adjusters and nuts while having the top end torn down, and they're about $1.50 for the nuts online at the cheapest!  sign me up for a set!  less than $20 for a set, not a bad deal!!

now is anyone making the adjusting stud out of a lighter material?  shave some weight off there too!   ;D

Would there be any issues in making the adjusting stud out of Ti? What sort of forces are exerted upon it?

there is friction between the stud and the valve stem. cause of the bad friction properties of Ti, i wouldnt do that.
but i would make the nuts out of Al 7075, and you can save another milligrams.

Have thought about Al(cheaper) but wondered if there would be a prob caused by the expansion coefficient. (Alu= 23.2, steel= 12.0 and Ti=10.8)

I would not use aluminum for nuts, but I have used Ti with no problems. My steel ones that are half thickness of Honda OEM are almost as light as OEM, work perfect and they are just about as the Ti that are full thickness as I read this  thread?

Yes Mark, nuts are DIN934 so are 5 m/m thick.
