Crash damage sucks, in the end though I feel lucky. The frame, swingarm, triple clamps and shocks survived. It's wise to have the odd weak link to save more expensive bits. For example, hollow axles reduce weight but can also be considered consumable. Kevin's (ttr400) front axle I was able to straighten. The front wheel was "tweaked" but just needed to be re-trued, forks were bend but salvageable. Otherwise front damage may have been worse.
The rear wheel is fine but the axle was bent in three spots and was replaced. I sent the Krober back to Belgium and it was re-calibrated. That is one fine tachometer and is tough as nails, it's been torn loose and flown away a few times. Of course little repairs like torn apart wiring takes time.
Every bracket known to man gets destroyed as does all bolted on controls, broken master included. Most of this stuff you carry in spares. The lower fairing survived, rest of the glass fibre bits are just that! Thankfully we have spares.
Many thanks to the friends here that help in a big way. This is amateur racing and sponsorship is a rare thing but believe me it is much appreciated.
This has been a very busy summer aside from racing, so my preparation time is limited. Wearing the number 1 plate for 2018 is a big deal so we'll be ready.
