Something with the tail doesn't sit well with me (bad pun...).  It doesn't follow any lines from the frame.  I LOVE the silhouette as far as the top goes.  The bottom of the tail just throws me for a loop....

It's funny that you say that. I didn't know why but after seeing it off the bike I had to go back and look at the pics of it on the bike. I like it. But something is off. Maybe its how the back hangsdown a bit.

Just above the shock. The frame doesn't line up with the bottom line of the seat.

well.. I'm not going to go out there saying i'm an expert.. bahahhaha.. my wife would piss her pants laughing at me if i did.. however.. i feel the same.. some things off.. don't get me wrong.. bike is awesome, your doing a great job. and doing something different. but I think the issue is, you have two different lines the eye is trying to meet up. round oval tank and a squared off tail. I think when we see a typical cafe bike. we see lines more like these>

Give the man a break, the bodywork's painted and he's adding foam for the seat - let him get it back together and ride it around a bit and have some fun!  ;D

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

I see what Rusty is talking about but that's not it for me. I really like the way the seat is shaped up top. There is something that makes it look weird to me off the bike.

Again, on the bike I like...no I love the different direction you went. It looks more modern and a lot less cliche' which is always good. Keep going. The bike is moving along nicely.

I had a early 90's GS500E for a very short while, and frequented the gstwin forums while I was repairing it. I saw a lot of threads about how the front fork springs were too soft, causing the handling to suffer. Just something to keep in mind. Here's a link that offers a quick cheap fix, but I'm not sure how effective it is.
