72' CB500 Cafe Project
« on: February 19, 2011, 07:32:58 AM »
This is my first post here oh SOHC so I figured I would introduce myself. My name is Tom McVay. I live in East Providence, RI. I am 20 yrs old. I work out of my garage. I am currently doing a restoration on a 59' Triumph TR3 and a 37' Dodge Sedan and my brother is doing a 54' corvette and a 60' corvette, and I have decided to branch out alittle in to the bike word and bought a 72' cb500 Four. Between me and my brother we are slowing starting a business named McVay Motorsports.  Anyways back to the bike. Not sure exactly what route I am gonna go with it. Kind of a cafe racer or street tracker kind of way.

anyone have one they are willing to sell? both clamps are snapped.

where it is now. 1st coat

if anyone has any tips and tricks they are willing to share or point me to that would be well appreciated.
Thank you all for looking. I will keep the updates coming.

Welcome and good luck with your project. You can use the search feature to look up anything in the task bar, or just ask questions. Tons of talent and knowledge on this site. Have fun and again welcome.

Did you do something to the engine, other than the obvious paint & polish?

no just cleaned it up and painted it. don't have the funds for that right now. it runs great so if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Looks like you've got a good start, keep it up! Trust me, if there's something you need to know you can probably find it here. This site and the service manual are the only reasons my bike runs at all :P
