Heat cycles (video)
« on: March 16, 2011, 08:28:31 PM »
My 836 is back together with the better suited 125-75 cam.  Getting it ready for dyno tuning this weekend with a heat cycle today and again tomorrow.

Thought I'd share the video.  These are Simon Tappin's pipes, for those wondering exactly how they sound or how loud they are.

Take care,
David

Not AN open meg. Four open megs.

Not a chance of running it like that on the street.  Need to come up with some sort of baffles.
Take care,
David

Real strong after listening to it again. ;)

If it sounds good, it's because of you Mike.  Cam selection, great guidance on getting proper squish, loaning me your jets, and fantastic head work - you played a pretty big role in setting up this motor.
Take care,
David

hei D

pretty curious too as to what you'll get on the dyno now as i  just finished building and dynoing an 810 with 29mm CR's , similar cam timing, hi-comp, etc.

its an air cooled four with two valves per cyl, just not an honda ;)

I've got my finger's crossed for mid to high 80's on our pretty conservative dyno. 100 rwhp/liter is a respectable number in most people's books.
Take care,
David

What do they charge for dyno runs at Twinline? I am wanting to tune my bike once she is up and running.

They charge shop-time, $100 per hour.  Bring your jets, etc. and make the time count and the price doesn't seem too bad.  Come unprepared and it can seem like a serious waste of time and money.
Take care,
David
