Nice looking cbx1000??
« on: February 18, 2011, 04:43:48 AM »
Came accross this ad for a cbx1000 for sale close to me. Unfortunately I can't afford it but might consider it if I had the money.

Just wanted to see what people thought about some of the work this person has done to it.

Way too high in the back.  Fork angle too shallow in front.  Looks like it would flip over if you grabbed some brake.  There is some nice workmanship, but I think the design is wrong.  Just my opinion.

The 17's look totally wrong on this bike.
This is a bike in my mind you restore to original condition like Mopar muscle.

There are just some thing you don't #$%* with, the CBX is one of them.

I would be scared to ride it.  Really, it needs some mudders on those rims.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

If the rear end was brought back down to earth it would OK IMO. That tail section actually works with the tank well. Personally i think you shouldn't go smaller than 18" on rims for bikes of that era BUT Honda's F bikes that Spencer, Baldwin etc raced had 16" front rims if I remember correctly and those bikes looked tough. ;)

Ok if ye didn't like that then have a look at some of these bikes just for laughs ;D, just came accross this page randomly searching google for cbx1000. Now these people have obviously put a lot of time/effort/money/work in these bikes but man are they butt ugly. Its a mix of everything but there's a few cbx's in here as well.

Heres my personal favorite from this page, this is probably the ugliest bike I have ever seen, that exhaust is just ridiculous ;) ;D
