Just got those NOS boots that were posted above on Craigslist.

Something I just realized is that the boots are hard even when new. Way harder than the boots that go to the airbox. Those are soft, but the ones that go from the engine to the carbs are actually pretty damn hard to begin with, so I don't know about all this wintergreen stuff to get them soft. Just my two cents.

I stumble across this. Look the same as Carpy's but at $7.20 for 10 plus shipping. 32-50 mm
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150502898866&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Uh that looks to me like $7.20 for 1 with 10 available....
At least it doesn't state explicitly that you get 10 for $7.20.....
But if it is 10 for $7.20 that is indeed an awesome price.

Here's a thread with yet more sources of SS carb clamps.

Ya that concerned me at first but it's in the description that it reads (10) in two different places.  Paypal will be refunding my cash if I only get one. I'll post here the result good or bad. ;)

So I got an email today stating my "10 clamps" were on their way.

My new ones from the dealer are not hard. Not as soft as the rear ones but I can squeeze them pretty easy.

Are these aftermarket boots by any chance?

No, NOS.

Comparing them to my old boots, they're pretty similar.

So I got an email today stating my "10 clamps" were on their way.

Ok- 10 clamps arrived today.  ;D and I just finished checking them out. They are solid and are not light and flimsy.  The inside is smooth and the outside edge is rolled out slightly- alot like my old Honda clamps. The screw's thread bites into the slits real well and the slits seem heavy duty- they shouldn't strip out.  The inside is stamped "made in germany".  I think a good deal overall.  Cheers.

Does NOS mean it could have been sitting on the shelf for 20 + years plastic bag or not they start getting stiffer don't they? However they may be better than what you had.

I just bought a set too!  ;D  I think they'll be a good replacement for the piece of #$%* clamps I picked up a Autozone.

Thanks albertaboy!  That is exactly what I wanted to see.  I guess I will have 10 of those clamps coming too.
