I think BB has the size wrong.  I just went back to the shop and measured both:
Base - 53x3mm
Cap - 44x2.5mm

Thanks for your help.

I found one of the springs in my parts. I will try to leave for work early enough to drop it (and the o-ring) at the post office tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks onepiece.  Let me know if you need anything.  I have a lot of stock 650 parts, handle bars, air box parts, mirrors (decent shape), a spare battery box (1981?), etc... Feel free to ask.

I got my o-rings from McMaster Carr today.  I ordered 44x2.5mm but somehow they sent 44x3 and as mentioned by another member yesterday, 3mm is too thick.  I'll have to give them a call tomorrow.  The accel pump crossover o-rings were workable but should have been more like 2.2x1.4mm.  I'll leak test these carbs before I mount them by hooking them to the test tank away from the bike.

I still have to tackle the head gasket and a few small things like a flashing neutral light and the mirror that blew out of it's gasket.  I have 1 of 4 new carb to head boots (yes I'm so poor right now I'm ordering them 1 at a time) AND I need a new petcock once I get the tank finish painted.

My paint job is FAR beyond what I can afford to do to this bike right now so while I plan to continue with the body work and priming, a serious paint job will have to wait until I'm working full time again.

Got to come in before work and after work today and get the 650 going.  I put it on this morning and tested it after work.  I pre-primed it by heavily coating all the surfaces with chain oil that I keep around for chain hoists.  It pumped oil up top right away but the light wouldn't go off.  I had neglected to tighten the screw this morning.  I got it all buttoned up except the sprocket cover which I'm leaving off until tomorrow.  I ran it two different times with no crazy noises and I'll final leak test it tomorrow morning.

Sprocket cover, I got out the same paint pen that I use for frame touch ups and colored in my recessed Honda logo like a kid with a crayon then let it sit for a few minutes.  Once it dried a bit I wiped the excess paint off of the area around the letters.

This bike has been getting a lot of riding and not much wrenching since February.  I'm super psyched that I dropped off my tank and side covers to the painter on Thursday of last week.  My color choice ended up being GM Cyber Gray Metallic.  The frame will be gold and the seat is still a mystery.  Once I get back to Cincinnati on June 12th I'll start tearing the bike apart again to paint the frame and motor.  I really liked the gold frame on Lucky's 750 so I'm hoping he is going to share the paint codes with me.

I don't know where you're located but we've been having fantastic weather for riding, so no one is going to fault you that.

Looking forward to seeing this thing painted up.

It's been mostly riding weather in Ohio since February.  I've been lucky that the one super rainy period I was out of town.  Once it get it torn down this bike won't be back together for awhile.  There is still alot to do, frame paint, head gasket leaks, engine paint, fenders to trim and possibly paint, sorting out what turn signals to use, seat rebuilt, fork tubes possibly getting repainted, etc etc etc etc.

Thanks fellas.  I have some lofty plans for this one.  I'll be tearing it ALL back apart soon.  The frame is going to be gold, or copper, or maroon, or gold, or copper, or maroon, or gold, or copper....

So today was the beginning of the end of the build of this bike.  I brought her into the shop and pulled the engine out to take to bore tech for some engine work.  While the engine is out I'll be painting it and the frame.

Two hours and 15 minutes elapsed between the first pic and the pic with the engine on the bike lift.

2hrs isn't to bad to get the engine out. What kind of work are you getting on the engine, going big or just a refresh?

Mainly just a refresh.  The head gasket and oil galleys leak, might need the mating surfaces machines down etc... Plus he'll be giving me the parts disassembled for awhile so I can paint them.

perfect, then she'll be running smooth. Hopefully in time to get a little fall riding action in.

It's not dead.  The motor is done, the guy took forever.  I know his work is top notch though.  Boretech in Batavia, OH.  The guy actually specializes in old-school race motors,  Honda 350 twins and Hawks.  Now I just have to come up with the balance I owe him and go pick it up.  I'm undecided about the seat but I'm sure I won't be running the side covers.  I'd sell them for $50.00 a piece.  They ARE trimmed down and have one repair but you can see in this project thread the way I trimmed them and the way I did the repair.  It's all very solid and the paint looks great despite a couple of tiny flaws on the edge.  As far as the seat I can't decide if I want to run it as a solo seat, or slide the tail piece back and probably make it smaller and run a passenger seat too.

Finally got my motor back on Wednesday.  I've been thinking too much about 3 other bikes to post a pic.
But here she is after being painted silver once and now black.

Things took a cafe turn.  I don't post here much these days because I'm just too busy but I figured I'd throw up a quick pic of the finished tank, cut frame and the beginnings of the seat and tail piece.
