CB550F2 fuel tap
« on: March 31, 2006, 01:12:16 PM »
Do any of you guys know if there was two diffrent type of fuel taps fitted to the 550F2 as i have just acquired a tank with a fuel tap that as a twin outlets (one outlet supplies carb's 1 & 2 the other supplies Carb's 2 & 4). It also has a larger union connector to the tank so it cant be swapped with the single outlet type (I have tried as my other tank has the single outlet type) The reason i am asking is that the tap leaks and need to find out were I can get the replacement seals from as most UK dealers don't even seem to know what a Honda CB550 is

I know the 550F had a wider connection than the K models.  But I think some K's may have dual outlet.  My petcock (dual outlet) was leaking and I was able to order a new strainer, nut connector and oring from the dealer.  I replaced the front oring (behind the lever) with a hardware store oring that matched the size of the stock piece.  Worked like a charm, no more leaks

I have a parts manual for the 550 and it shows 2 different fuel cocks.   part#16950-300-020  and #16950-374-671.  The first one has 2 supply lines.  You can order these online from Service Honda.  Just plug in the part # and it will show pricing.  Hope this helps
