77 550k brake ?
« on: February 15, 2011, 02:20:00 PM »
I have a 77 cb550k, first Honda and it came with no front brake I think I have almost everything I need my question is what goes between the upper and lower lines and where does it mount? My manual has fuzzy photo's and I can't see what is going on there. Anyone have a clear pic they could share? Also if I want to do a double disk set up will I run into problems with the stock speedo drive? most of the how to's cover 750'.

Thanks in advance, Chris

Under the headlight bucket, you should find the brake switch.  It's basically a splitter with the upper line coming in on one side, the switch and the lower line exiting out the middle and lower ports.  Others may have an answer about the speedo drive, but I think there is a way to deal with it.

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Thanks that helped! Got the missing part ordered. Still curios about the speedo drive if anyone knows weather the stock one will work or not?

750 and 500 front hub/speedo are the same so you have to do the same as the 750 write up
