CB500 Four - Build Thread.
« on: February 20, 2011, 10:18:26 AM »
Greetings,

Another one here from the land of snow. (Picture was taken 10 min ago! Yay snowing, My WRX so I like snow!.)

This is my first motorcycle build.

I do apologize the build isn't going to be that documented until yesterday.

How it started, (I put the bars on it).

Bakeoff is my Roommate (frozen tundra CB550 build thread)

Then I decided to do a simple Cafe, So i got to work on the tail.

Yes that is a spider-man skateboard.

Next idea was a metal tail.

Then a new idea came along.
(This was dark on purpose, Teaser picture)

Except you don't have to wait to see it.

So i cut the back of the bike off! =D

Mounting the Shock.

Cutting out the shock mounting tabs.

Little bit of Mock-Up before we weld.

Finished Tabs.

Bakeoff using his new toy to smooth out the tabs.

Then of course they must be welded in.

Look! Shock mount!

The bike standing on its own.

Sitting on its own, Seat placed where its going.

I'll add some more details in later. But enjoy the crappy cell phone pictures!

I'll try to kick his ass to get some more clear pictures.  These don't do it justice at all.  ;D

Glad you all like it so far.

So a little information on the bike.

Its a 1971 CB 500.
CBR F2 Swingarm
CBR F2 Rear Shock.

I charged the batteries for my Nice camera.
So i'll get some better pictures of its current progress for everyone.

F2 means something else around here.  Gotta throw a CBR in front of it.  haha!
