I've had a strange occurrance, because of the quake and the adjusting of the government's (OCR) official cash rate (dropped .50%) my mortgage is going to drop a little?
Last time the Reserve Bank increased the OCR by .25% my mortgage went up by about $20 a week, following that line of thinking my mortgage should drop $40 a week!
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

you could use some of that extra money to donate to the
" keep scunnys throat moist appeal" this is in no way connected with the red cross appeal, who seem to have a slightly different objective.

Sheet!!! I just found out my older brother Jeff was in central Christchurch when the big one struck.

I'm glad he's safe, when the quake struck I was just thanking luck that none of my family live down there, huh little did I know eh! :o

Maybe it was a good thing you didn't know he was there; think how worried you would have been...

Don't hold your breath Hushy, when the GFC hit Australia and the Reserve Bank dropped interest rates by a couple of points, the "Big Four" banks here were very slow to drop their mortgage rates, and refused to drop them anywhere even close to the rates set by the reserve. I hope your banks are different, but I'm betting they're not.  ::)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

There are two universal truths they say you can count on- death and taxes.

You didn't die, but many did=fewer people. Wreckage to repair and fewer people to pay = more taxes for you. Be glad you are alive  paying more taxes.

Scunny I'd be only too happy to donate to such a worthy cause. :D
Anyone heard from Toy Collector yet?
I just checked and he is definitely from Christchurch and was last on this site 21st Feb (day before the quake) so hope he is just having email issues or maybe too busy with all the other things our Southern mates are having to deal with. :)

One night in Scunny's backyard.
 rustle rustle rustle
"That you Mr Smith"?
"Yeah just taking a dump"
"Me too, who you reakon's gonna win the football"? ;D

we are still here so take that Mr Shaky thing  ;D

You know you’re from Christchurch when:

-Tidying up the lounge involves a shovel.
-It’s normal to greet visitors with “Do you need a shower?”
-You start planning your holidays around the Moon Man’s predictions
-Your “Ensuite” has a vege garden and dog kennel.
-Someone says “you’re in hot water” and you’re glad.
-They word “munted” now has more oomph.
-You’re mother asks you what “munted” means, you explain and she decides to add it to her vocabulary.
-Having a third person under a door frame is no longer an invasion of personal space.
-You DON’T call the police when there is a massive group of students in the middle of your street.
-GeoNet is saved as your homepage.

And lastly!
You know you’re from Christchurch when
You sleep in one suburb
Shower in another suburb
Go to the toilet where you can
And still smile and greet people like you are all one big family
